Variable dimensions
This installation explores spatial displacements and extensions drawn from the memory of the artist’s former room. A suspended white blanket acts as a projection screen, evoking both domestic intimacy and the public nature of shared learning spaces. It marks a threshold—simultaneously dividing and connecting.
A wireframe bed, glowing and suspended across the balcony, is a fragment of the interior pushed outward. Reduced to luminous lines, it becomes a fleeting trace of presence and absence. The room’s floor plan is re-imagined on the ground in tape, scaled and re-situated—an ephemeral map of memory and a subjective expansion of space. Extimum—a series of inscribed blankets folded like newspapers—references the public circulation of private text collages. The blanket, an intimate object, becomes a soft archive for dreams and fleeting thoughts made visible. A voice reciting „Erste in Deutsch“ weaves through the space, adding a performative and linguistic dimension to the installation’s emotional and spatial layers.
